This picture of Owen was taken by his babysitter Sarah.I may not tell her enough, but Owen's babysitter Sarah is so amazing! She is such a great wife, mother, friend, and now babysitter. She is always going above and beyond with the kids...as well as their parents. There have been several times that I have dropped Owen off in the morning and Sarah will send me off to work with breakfast. She has even sent dinner home with us so I didn't have to cook one night! The kids are always kept busy at her house. They always seem to be doing something fun like going to the library or the park.
We had a situation a few months ago that left us looking for someone to watch Owen. My mom had mentioned to me that Greg's wife, Sarah was thinking about starting a daycare. I knew Sarah in passing from the fire department and I felt completely comfortable with the idea of her watching Owen. As soon as I hung up the phone with my mom, I called my dad and said give me Greg's number. So I left a message for Greg and within an hour Sarah had returned my call. It was true...she was looking to take a few kids! We set up a time to go over there the next day to see how Owen would get a long at their house. The fit and the timing could not have been better! After I had called Sarah, she had received another phone call from a family asking if she would watch their baby. Sarah only wanted to take one baby at a time though! I could not believe our luck!
It has been several months since Owen has been going there now. He loves it and I'm pretty sure that Sarah's girls Addyson and Abigail love it too! Addyson adores Owen and is quite protective of him, while him and Abigail have a bit more of a love hate relationship. Abigail is certainly going to toughen him up, that's for sure! I just adore those girls and couldn't think of better influences for my child. They are both so unique in their own personalities.
Since Owen has been going to Sarah's, her and I have developed a great friendship. She has introduced me to an amazing group of women. They are so much fun to hang out with...and I am really enjoying having girls nights out again! It reminds me to take time for myself. While I love being a wife and a mother, sometimes its nice just to get out and let go for a night!
It's funny how life works out. We were so worried about what we were going to do when we had to find a new babysitter. I was so stressed out that I would have to put Owen in a traditional daycare with a ton of kids and adults that I didn't know. In the end though, everything worked out perfectly!
